CPFWP 2025 World Assembly

The 2025 World Assembly of the Chinese People’s Federation for World Peace (CPFWP), hosted by CPFWP-USA and held in New York City from November 7–10, was marked by a meaningful gathering focused on strengthening family values and cultivating global peace, allowing the culture of the Filial Heart to brighten the world. This year’s theme, “Harmony Begins at Home: Strengthening Families for a Peaceful World,” resonated deeply with participants from over seven nations, with a total of 300 attendees. This year also marked the first time the assembly was elevated to a global level, signifying CPFWP’s strengthened standing as it conducted an official activity within the United Nations in New York.

1) Opening Luncheon at the United Nations

7th November, 2025 – A Historic Moment

The assembly opened with a luncheon at the United Nations Delegates Dining Room, signifying a major milestone for CPFWP. Prominent speakers, including Dr. Tyler Hendricks, President Emeritus of HJ International Graduate School for Peace and Public Leadership, and Dr. Thomas Ward, Founding Co-chair of the Research Institute for the Integration of World Thought, delivered the keynote speeches. They emphasized that filial piety is not only a family virtue but also a principle that expands into a “filial heart toward Heaven,” enabling humanity to live as one family under the same Parent and ultimately realize peace.

Congratulatory remarks were offered by Grand Master Samantha Chou, President of Purple Lotus Temple; Chairman Justin Yu, Founder of the Chinatown East Neighborhood Council; and Ms. Nagama Shrestha, IAYSP Representative to the UN.

Both Grand Master Samantha Chou and Chairman Justin Yu testified to President Amy Yang and her family’s tireless dedication to promoting the culture of the filial heart.

The ceremony concluded with the CPFWP Flag Handover Ceremony, during which President Amy Yang passed the CPFWP flag to Prof. Thomas Hwang, symbolizing that the next World Assembly will be held in Korea in 2027. In addition, a New York City Council Member presented proclamations honoring the “Mother of Peace,” CPFWP-USA, and the 2025 World Assembly of CPFWP.

2) Filial Piety Celebrated at CCBA Chinatown

8th November, 2025

On November 8, the Award Ceremony for the Global Filial Heart Festival and the Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition took place at CCBA in Chinatown. Three hundred local and international guests gathered to celebrate the outstanding essays and artworks that extolled filial piety and encouraged younger generations to uphold this virtue.

Dr. Frank Kaufmann and other leaders highlighted filial piety as the essence of Chinese culture, a gift to the world that illustrates the unifying power of family-centered traditions. President Gene Mei presented a calligraphy piece and a painting commemorating the successful 2025 World Assembly and offered an original poem honoring CPFWP’s steadfast commitment to preserving traditional Chinese moral values.

Along the hall, artworks by the Chinese Cultural Art Association were displayed, illustrating the theme of filial piety and enriching the artistic atmosphere of the event.

In the afternoon, Chairman Justin Yu led a guided tour of Chinatown. The tour featured historic Chinese figures, including Sun Yat-sen and Confucius. Participants connected with the peace-loving spirit of the Chinese people, who honor and cherish their moral roots.

3) Belvedere Tour & New York City Hall Tour

On the following day, participants toured the Belvedere Estate, exploring the main house and training center while learning about True Parents’ storied history at this historic site. The tour concluded with a Korean meal prepared by True Parents’ chefs, symbolizing the sharing of True Parents’ love and grace.

NYC City Hall Tour: Honoring Public Service

A dedicated tour of New York City Hall was led by City Council Member Hon. Christopher Marte, who came on a Sunday to support CPFWP’s delegation. Visitors gained insight into New York’s civic heritage and the nation’s history of democracy and patriotism. The collaboration with the City underscored the importance of bridging cultures through respectful partnership.

The CPFWP World Assembly 2025 concluded as an offering of hope to True Mother and to the world, upholding family values on the international stage amid global conflict and division. It set a powerful example demonstrating that the values cultivated within families can create ripples of harmony across nations.

Through award ceremonies, cultural exchanges, and visits to historic venues, attendees shared wisdom, compassion, and a renewed commitment to building lasting peace.
“Filial heart starts with the family, and peace starts with me.”

We look forward to gathering again in Korea in 2027, continuing to write new chapters of filial heart and peace together.
