On 2/12/2021, around 120 people from the US, Canada, Taiwan, China, Malaysia, Japan and Korea etc…celebrated the lunar New Year together online. It is the first event of CPFWP in 2021. Prof. Thomas Hwang gave us a welcome remark and encouraged us that through this celebration, we opened the fortune of CPFWP this year.
Dr. Chung Sik Yong gave a keynote speech, and spoke about the significance of the year of the ox. Rev. Dr. Peter Chao and Mr. Edmond Young offered congratulatory remarks. Rev. Dr. Peter Chao encouraged us to reflect on our life and ask God for wisdom and love.
Besides that, we had performances from members, including violin, trumpet, guitar, cello , singing and dance. Also, we had a riddle game, and winners got prize money. During the event, we played a video that introduced each member of CPFWP-USA, so people had the opportunity to know the CPFWP-USA members.
Near the end, the CPFWP leader in China, Mr. & Mrs. Zhang couple together sang a classic Chinese song “Jasmine”. Then, the program closed with three cheers of Eok-Mansei. Through the New Year celebration, the CPFWP-USA members demonstrated their talents, creating a beautiful holy community.
People all rejoiced during the event and wished each other a “Happy New Year!”.
